My opinion for BYOD

BYOD
Do you think we should have Bring Your Own Devices (BYOD) at nelson central school?
Well I have mixed opinions, there would be a lot of rules to go over but at the same time
There would be plenty of benefits.

One reason why I think we shouldn't have BYOD is because a lot of parents can't afford
To buy devices for their children. So a lot of children might feel left out and won't be able to
Join other people's online games that your friend might be playing.

But like i said at the beginning of my argument there are some benefits of BYOD as well.
It would be good if everyone had a device for learning because at the moment we don't
Have enough for everyone, we have three ipads and three computers and there is 30
Students in our class which makes it five people between one device. And devices are
good for research and communication.

But another reason why i don’t think we should have BYOD is because some parents might
Not approve of their children having loads of screen time. Im sure im not the only one that
Has a time limit on my device! But also think about the teacher, if a child lost of broke their
Device the teacher would probably get the blame when really the child's responsibility.

In conclusion, i have mixed opinions for BYOD although they are good for learning
They can easily get stolen or broken at school. So what do you think of BYOD at Nelson
central school.

our AWESOME ski trip

We had a lot of fun at the ski field and so many people improved or learnt how to ski up at the ski field. Here is a video of what some of the things that we got up to. I was so proud of myself that I got up to the intermediate slope. It was cold at first but after a few hours of skiing we were all boiling hot.

the suter trip

On Tuesday Room 2 went to the Library to do some art with Ester. We went to a doctor Suess exhibition. We first chose a piece of paper that had a colour and we mixed the paints that we had to match the colour and then we painted the colour onto little shapes of people. We also wrote what the emotion that the colour represented to us.
Then we used those colours to
colour in another bigger and
better picture of a person. We
were allowed to do patterns
and swirls and stuff like that.
We had a lot of fun mixing the
colours. The colours had to be
based on an emotion, some
people chose happy but I
chose lonely because blue
is a lonely colour to me
but it's still my favourite
colour.
